16/09/2019

Recently the Historical Library of the Uriach Foundation, following its conservation policies, has restored one of his most outstanding works “De humani corporis fabrica” by Andreas Vesalius.

The work is composed of about seven hundred pages of splendid printing, being considered one of the most influential scientific books of all time, "De Humani Corporis Fabrica" is known above all for his illustrations, some of the most perfect woodcuts ever made.

Andreas Vesalio based his anatomical studies on direct observation and surgical practice, rejecting some anatomical errors present in previous works and contributing new discoveries that revolutionized the circles of the time, becoming the founder of modern anatomy.
