On March 3 and 4, the First Conference on Nutraceuticals “Bioactive and Nutraceutical Compounds” was held, organized by the Cátedra Uriach de Nutracéutica (CUdN) with the aim of presenting the most recent results in relation to bioactive and nutraceutical compounds, as well as the meeting of scientists working in this field. All this allowed contrasting the different points of view on the current concept of nutraceuticals.
The sessions were attended by undergraduate, master's and doctoral students and also by different professional sectors that work with functional compounds and nutraceuticals, such as technical personnel from nutraceutical and food companies, pharmacists and nutritionists.
The conferences have been organized by the Cátedra Uriach de Nutracéutica , created in 2020 as a result of an agreement between the Uriach Foundation and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. The chair is attached to the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology and is coordinated from the Nutrigenomics Research Group. Its purpose is to promote knowledge of Nutraceuticals in the educational, professional and social spheres through the promotion of outreach, teaching and research activities that allow the progress and development of this discipline.
